Artist Samantha Keely Smith paints breathtaking abstract landscapes that resemble the swirling waters of the ocean. Using oil paint, enamel, and shellac, Smith builds up multiple translucent layers of color, alternating between soft brushstrokes and large, sweeping gestures to evoke crashing waves, surging tides, and stormy floods.

yourpersonalcheerleader:

You are not a burden.

You are not a bother.

You enhance the lives of others.

People smile, not groan, when you text them.

Your voice.

Your presence.

You, matter.

A comedian changes your immediate mood but not your worldview. An artist changes your worldview even if you keep your mood.

Quote

How far apart, think you, dwell the most two distant inhabitants of yonder star, the breath of whose disk cannot be appreciated by our instruments? Why should I feel lonely? is not our planet in the Milky Way? This which you put seems to me not to be the most important question. What sort of space is that which separates a man from his fellows and makes him solitary? I have found that no exertion of legs can bring two minds much nearer to one another.

When someone doesn’t fit your stereotypical view of a Christian, you’ve already shortened the arm of God.

Everyone is accountable, but everyone is also being chiseled in their personal relationship with Christ — and you are not the judge of that. You don’t get to judge someone’s life over a tiny slice of their lifetime.
